It's been 3 years since I fell in love with Jenny Kern's voice. And I think I just figured out why. It is often said that from the age of 30, we no longer discover much new music and we become attached to old songs that bring back memories. And I think Jenny is deeply linked to my teenage memories because I grew up listening to Dido's first album over and over. And in "I Need You," her new single from her new EP "Your Heart Knows", out today, I found the vocal resemblance striking.

It is true that it is not very cool to compare artists, because they all have a universe and a story of their own. But I think it was important to underline this resemblance because if you were a fan of the Dido of the 2000s, there is a very good chance that you could, like me, spend your entire days listening only to Jenny Kern, endlessly.

"I Need You" is a pop ballad that is exactly Jenny's DNA, always with bewitching vocals and surprising and detailed writing. The chorus melody is catchy as hell and it's also for this reason that we like to see Jenny Kern again on IMC. Because each of her songs has the power to stay in your mind for a long time. It's one of our essential criteria: to provide you with songs that you won't forget in a week. And "I Need You" has this addictive power, and this potential to last.

The singer from Brooklyn, of Canadian origin, continues to delight us with productions worked down to the smallest detail, and her EP is only one outcome among many others that will follow. We met this IMC Family member with only a few hundred monthly listeners. They are now close to 40K. And that's just the beginning.
