Let's go back to the California sun for a moment, to meet Jessi Mason, who releases music under Maisyn.

What struck us first was the enormous quality of this track. Since it's produced by Grammy-nominated engineer Joey Messina-Doerning (HAIM, Women in Music Pt. III), so it's no surprise that the quality is there. But like any good music fan, you know that a producer alone is not enough to create a masterpiece. Without the talent of the artist, we cannot go very far.

And Maisyn's warm voice is pretty amazing on this song, comfortable in any key.

If you're having trouble accepting your body as it is (like a lot of people), this song will speak to you. How many times have you avoided pool parties? How many times did you stay dressed while going to the beach? I myself have this feeling of shame about being overweight, and I think I'm not the only one.

Well, the song here is speaking of body dysmorphia in general. In a rather virtual world, where only appearance matters, it is difficult to show yourself as you are. However, as said before, you are not alone. And if you really pay attention to the people around you, you'll quickly realize that ... they're not looking at you. So there is no shame in having a different body and only our motivation and our state of mind can help us take the plunge.

Today is my birthday and this song comes as a timely gift. Like yet another sign of encouragement. And I hope this track will speak to you and make you want to show yourself as you are, that's why it's featured in the "Happy Days" section. Cause this song is a true ray of light and can only help you to enjoy better days.

With an absolutely divine melody, heartfelt lyrics, and magnificent and soulful vocals, Maisyn signs here a true masterpiece of authenticity. Just close your eyes and her magic will do the rest.

Added to our Main Spotify Playlist, our "Happy Days" playlist, and played daily on Indie Music Center's Radio.
