Matu - Out of the Mist

October 22, 2020

Our thoughts about the song :

We discovered Matu on June 1st, thanks to his debut single "The Days Don't Come Back". After a second single released this summer, he's now back to rock your Fall, and add the shimmering colors of Patagonia. As we all need a little bit of light in this full of fog and mist season, the song is perfectly entitled. On a rather slow rhythm, "Out of the Mist" is a Folk ballad which brings together all the ingredients that we love: the vocals are mastered to perfection. On the bridge, the song takes a turn and the vocals become even more powerful in emotions. The melody enchants us, from the first to the last note. There is great maturity in Matu for an artist of his age. Surprising, astonishing, his talent moves, and the character remains simple, sympathetic and easily reachable. A track to add to your favorites, and of course, you will now hear this amazing song daily on the Indie Music Radio. Included in our "Indie Folk Gems" playlist. You can find this playlist on : Spotify / Soundcloud

Matu's point of view :

Out of the Mist is a song I wrote about the struggle of overcoming habits that were bad for me, realizing that I am the one responsible for them and how I feel some sort of respect for them cause those habits helped me through some lonely times. It also comes from this idea of trying to overcome these habits to prove yourself.

Biography:

Matu is a 24 years old singer-songwriter from Patagonia, Argentina. He started writing songs 5 years ago in English and not in Spanish because he felt very self conscious about what he was saying if he did otherwise. By writing in English it was a lot easier for him to write about whatever he wanted and be 100% honest in his music. He thinks this still applies, so here we are.
