Lyon, France, seems to be a town full of great artists. Because when we were still a radio station (Pop'N'rocK Radio), we had the pleasure of broadcasting some of them, including Grimme and Logar , which were served to us on a set by the label " Vibrations sur le fil ", led by the formidable Lionel (who we greet in passing). And after Nazca, which we presented to you last June, it's Yannick Owen's turn to make his debut at Indie Music Center. And there, surprise, when we went for a tour of the label's very fine range of artists , we came across Yannick Owen. The circle is complete. In " Frozen Valley ", taken from the new EP " Leave ", the artist and his musicians offer us an impeccable performance. We appreciate all the work that has been done upstream, whether in the very careful writing or the composition worthy of bigger bands like Of Monsters And Men. After an all-acoustic intro, Yannick's voice, supported by discreet but effective female choirs, delivers a subtle and worked message to us. When the rhythm is invited, our first feeling is confirmed, we are in a folk universe. And the track develops naturally, with a gradual rise in power (all we like). With a heady melody and very worked vocal harmonies, we do not see the 4min30 of the piece go by. Once you get to the end of the song, you will only have one desire. Discover all the rest of the universe of this unique artist, in particular the 4 other titles of the EP which is worth its weight in gold. An artist to watch closely, because 2020 could well project him forward!
