Aujourd'hui, on part au Royaume-Uni, et plus précisément, à Bury St Edmunds, dans le Suffolk, au Sud-Est de l'Angleterre, entre Cambridge et Norwich.

C'est là qu'on y trouve The Catch, le groupe formé par Adam Levey au chant et à la batterie, Eddie Allen à la guitare et Nyan Horne à la bass.

Une guitare et une basse inquiétante ouvrent ce bijou, portées délicatement par une cymbale discrète, avant que la batterie ne les rejoigne pour finir une intro mystérieuse.

Puis la voix maîtrisée d'Adam ouvre les hostilités.

En écoutant de plus près, cette jolie voix nous rappelle nos regrettés Viola Beach, que l'on vous avait fait découvrir il y a quelques années.

Un petit break, avant d'entamer un refrain que vous pourrez chanter au bout de la première écoute.

Un refrain qui d'ailleurs, arrive assez tôt, à 33 secondes du début, pour être précis.

Pour avoir été directeur des programmes de plusieurs radios et avoir baigné dans ce milieu depuis près de 20 ans, je peux vous confirmer qu'un refrain qui arrive avant les 40 secondes fait qu'un morceau peut vite devenir un hit. 

C'est tout le meilleur que l'on peut souhaiter à ce groupe!

Le refrain est suivi par des choeurs sympathiques qui nous emmènent vers un second couplet un peu plus pêchu, avant de retrouver très rapidement le refrain entêtant de la chanson.

Le pont nous propose une pause légère, porté par un son de guitare électrique comme on aime et qui rappelle les excellents Angels & Airwaves.

Un dernier tour du côté du refrain avant un final en apothéose, renforcé par des percussions beaucoup plus présentes et des vocalises qui se lâchent un peu plus. 

Et la toute fin avec les choeurs et la guitare nous laissent sur une envie de réécouter. Tout de suite!

Today, we go to the United Kingdom, and more precisely, to Bury St Edmunds, in Suffolk, in the South East of England, between Cambridge and Norwich.

This is where we find The Catch, the band formed by Adam Levey on vocals and drums, Eddie Allen on guitar and Nyan Horne on bass.

A mysterious duo made of guitar and bass opens this jewel, carried gently by a discreet cymbal, before the drums join them to complete a mysterious intro.

Then the controlled voice of Adam opens the hostilities.

By listening more closely, this beautiful voice reminds us of our regretted Viola Beach, which you had discovered here a few years ago.

A short break, before starting a chorus that you can sing at the end of the first listen.

A chorus that comes quite early, 33 seconds from the beginning, to be exact.

As I was director of programs of several radio stations and had bathed in this environment for nearly 20 years, I can confirm you that a chorus which arrives before 40 seconds has a meaning : the track can quickly become a "hit".

This is all the best we can wish for this band!

The chorus is followed by nice choirs that lead us to a second verse, which is a little more punchy, before quickly finding the catchy chorus again.

The bridge offers a light break, carried by an electric guitar sound as we like and reminiscent of the excellent Angels & Airwaves.

A last turn on the chorus side before an epid ending, exactly the kind of ending we love, reinforced by much more present drums and vocalises that let go a little more.

Then the choirs and the guitar leave us with a desire to listen again. Right now!
